At the age of 8, Cassidy started taking lessons in Hunter/Jumper focusing on equitation. When she turned 10, she decided she would start competing in Hunter. After a few years of dedication and winning on barn horses, she decided it was time to get her own horse so she got a little buckskin quarter horse that nobody else would ride. Cassidy and Ritz worked hard and moved further than anyone anticipated, winning many competitions. During this time, Cassidy competed in IEA and was the point rider for her team, helping them secure a win at Regionals. She also received the highest points in the region for equitation.
At 14 she got her first OTTB, May, straight off the track and quickly realized she was not cut out for the Hunter world so moved into Jumpers and that opened the door to Eventing and Dressage. Cassidy and May (Mischief Mayhem) have been competing in Eventing around the country, including in many recognized shows. Cassidy and May have concentrated and focused on Dressage which Cassidy believes is the strongest foundation for both horse and rider.
Cassidy has been trained and coached by several top-level riders such as Bernie Traurig, an Olympic rider. She has also taken lessons and been a working student for 4* and 5* Eventers, Grand Prix Jumpers and Dressage trainers. At 18, she opened her own equestrian center focusing on restarting and training OTTBs. With a solid foundation and love for English disciplines, she loves sharing her knowledge of both riding and horses in general. She enjoys taking a horse that might have lost confidence or has little knowledge and build their confidence so they can be safe and happy with their person.
